About the Role

Geotechnics….it’s been in the name since 1983. We deal with the engineering and environmental interaction between earth materials and the built environment. We work with soil, rock, groundwater and other man made materials to help ground truth and understand the site-specific engineering behaviour beneath our feet. We offer value through our research, investigation, testing, monitoring, reporting and evaluation to reduce the risks associated with the unknowns at pre-construction stage.

Our Company values (Quality, People, Integrity), ethos and vision is everything to us. Nurturing and providing a work place where everyone is involved, passionate and driven to deliver the very best quality site investigation services and data to serve the construction industry, wider community and the environment in which we operate and live.

Our vision is simple - to be the very best at what we do and to ensure the experience of working  with and for us is enjoyable for one and all.

It’s an exciting time for Geotechnics as we look to grow and build upon our solid foundations established some 40 years ago whilst striving to remain as committed, motivated, determined and responsive to our people as we are to our clients.

At Geotechnics we take great pride in being people focussed with integrity – our people are our most important and greatest asset and without we couldn’t do all the great work we do.

We value everyone’s thoughts, talents and ideas. We’re excited to see what you can make happen and we look forward to working with you

What you'll do:

As an Engineer you will join and be part of our Engineer Training Scheme. This tailored programme follows on after the 2 years’ experience gained from the Graduate programme and extends up to year 6 of post-graduation experience and on to successful completion on to Senior Engineer promotion.

With advancing years’ experience and knowledge comes additional responsibility to successfully manage projects from inception, through fieldwork, laboratory testing and reporting.

We will ensure that you have the necessary external training that includes but is not limited to CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, CAT and GENNY. This will be accompanied with various in-house training that is delivered by our in house experts. As part of your induction the Regional Operations Manager, Environmental Manager and Health and Safety Manager will each spend time with you ensuring you are fully up to date with both the industry standard requirements and the Company approach and ethos.

You will be supported to work through various set goals achieving key skills in order for you and us to track progression.

Although site work plays a large important part of an engineers’ early career and to ensure we get the right balance for you we strive to give opportunity to our engineers to be engaged with all aspects of a Ground Investigation to learn the necessary skills to produce Reports, Health and Safety Documentation and ensure you have a good appreciation and knowledge in project and commercial planning and management. All these skills will help you develop both along our Engineer Training Scheme, your own chosen specialism in the industry and a pathway to suitable Chartership.
