About the Role

Geotechnics….it’s been in the name since 1983. We deal with the engineering and environmental interaction between earth materials and the built environment. We work with soil, rock, groundwater and other man made materials to help ground truth and understand the site-specific engineering behaviour beneath our feet. We offer value through our research, investigation, testing, monitoring, reporting and evaluation to reduce the risks associated with the unknowns at pre-construction stage.

What you'll do:

We are offering the chance to gain a degree level qualification in Geoscience whilst working for a leading Site Investigation Company where you will gain hands on experience whilst you study. You will work alongside our team investigating and profiling ground conditions. Supported by our extensive and knowledgeable team of Engineering Geologists.


Whilst studying for your Level 6 Apprenticeship with Keele University you will also have a lot to learn with us to:

  • Assist with all tasks associated with site investigations

  • Describe soil and rock to British Standard

  • Assist in the preparation of site investigation reports

  • Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety documention

  • Assist in the supervision of site work.

  • Assist with testing soil and rock in the laboratory

The role will see you working predominantly outdoors, in our UKAS award winning laboratory and in our offices. You will also have the opportunity to visit and work across the UK.

What we're looking for:

You must meet the entry requirement for Keele's Level Apprenticeship in Geoscience


  • GCSE English (Grade Level 2 or higher) essential

  • GCSE Maths (Grade Level 2 or higher) essential

  • A Level 3 subjects including a Science (Grade B or Equivalent) essential.


In addtion, you must be keen and willing learn on the job, you will do this by progressing through the Geotechnics Graduate Training Scheme concurrently with your studies. 


You must hold  a full UK Driving licence and have the right to work in the UK without the requirement of sponsorship. 


You must be located (or willing to relocate) within an easy commute of our Coventry or Chester teams.
